2023 American Package Design Award

During my senior year at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, I was in a packaging class. The goal of the assignment was to create a fictitious audio technology brand. I wanted to be minimalistic, sharp, and memorable. I came up with the name “Heat Wave” which is a play on the audio waveform. I originally wanted to have a graphic logo to help emphasize the flames. In the long run, I ended up not working and ended with a wordmark logo instead.

For the 60th GDUSA, there were about 3,800+ entries and only the top 10% were selected. I end up winning and got an award certificate.

You can view my entry on the GDUSA website or on page 119 for 60th issue of the magazine.

Designalytic’s Consumer Engagement & Redesign

In the next assignment, My professor wanted us to redesign a product for an existing company using consumer research. The design report would give us detailed consumer data as well as ranking with its competitors. I decided to help rebrand the package for OWYN. “Only What You Need” is a plant-based protein drink. On the ranking, It was second to last the in the category.

In the end, I chose a Crimson Red and Brown, making it stand out but still visibly appealing. The redesign improved it in every category compared to the original. If OWYN would choose my redesign It could improve their sales by millions.
